Carol Morrison - Director of Spiritual Wellbeing

I was born and brought up in Croydon, I married Neil in 1986. I have a varied career – mostly people and community centred. In my thirties I trained as a Fitness Consultant and Lifestyle Counsellor.

Most of my adult life has been spent working and volunteering alongside people of all ages supporting them in personal development. My personal interests, especially as part of my faith journey, have always had a lean towards healing and wholeness. This led me into the NHS where I worked for Bromley PCT as a Lifestyles Project Advisor – during this time I trained many Health Professionals and Community Workers to deliver lifestyle advice to their client group.

I have had a varied church life – I was brought up in the RC Church but went to a Charismatic church from my early twenties to late thirties when, having explored a few denominations, God led me into the Anglican Church, where I received God’s call to ordination. I studied theology at S.E.I.T.E. (South East Institute of Theological Education), attaining a Diploma in Applied theology; following this I achieved a BA Hons in Ordained Ministry.

I served my curacy at Christ Church Bexleyheath where I set up Silent Meditation in partnership with an employee of Oxleas Mental Health Trust. I also spent time supporting, and developing my understanding of, the community in recovery from addictions, and co-led on setting up ‘Healing on the Streets’ in the High Street.

Whilst incumbent at Keston I have continued to develop my passion for healing and wholeness and have led the people there in their awareness of this ministry. We now have monthly prayer for healing during the Eucharist, we have welcomed AA and OA on site and we have become a visible presence in the community, we Prayer Walk every month and seek to bring out the loving, healing presence of Jesus
