"What a wonderful day!
I never expected that I would have the opportunity to learn the techniques of this traditional art form, and to be taught by such a skilled tutor and in the beautiful surroundings of Burrswood was a great privilege. We were each able to make a painting of the face of an icon, using egg tempera which we mixed ourselves, building the image up from “dark to light”. I have booked on to the full 5 day course, and really look forward to making ...

"This was my second stay at Burrswood, and each time I have felt from the moment I was admitted that I was part of a very special place, where all the staff contributed to the healing of mind and body. I cannot thank them enough. The spirit of Dorothy Kerin pervades the whole lovely building and the beautiful gardens, and the view over the surrounding countryside was a joy every sunrise, sunset and moonrise."

Valerie spent the day at Burrswood under the Care for Carer's scheme that is run by the charity 3H Helping Hands for Holidays.
We are delighted to be working with 3H to offer support for carers via a day of rest and relaxation. Together we have devised a programme where carers can enjoy our beautiful setting and make use of the facilities.
Carers are looked after, participate in activities, receive treatments as well as having a delicious lunch and tea. It is a time for them.
We were delighted to cheer on the BBC Children in Need Rickshaw Challenge team through Groombridge on Saturday.
Along with many shops in Crowborough, our charity shop has joined in with a commemorative window.
Michelle, our shop manager, reports a number of interesting donations that she has sold from the shop recently - including a beautiful Victorian games table and a chaise longue. She was especially delighted that the chaise longue was bought by a person with some mobility issues and it was just what she needed.
