Teach your baby to swim!
Babies and toddlers just love being in warm water — and it’s really good for them, too. For many of our parents, their child’s first swimming lessons are among their most precious memories. Swimming is also the perfect exercise for little ones, since water allows their muscles to move freely and they’re supported by its buoyancy. The multi-award winning Water Babies programme teaches water confidence and safety skills from birth to four years, aiming to make children happy and confident in the water, right from the start. Swimming lessons take place in the warm, secure environment of our hydrotherapy pool which is heated to a toasty 33-35ºC. Courses run in ten week blocks, and you’ll be in the pool with your baby or toddler for the whole time. Lessons always incorporate lots of bonding, fun and socialising – so you can be sure that a Water Baby is a happy baby! Water Babies world-class teachers are trained to the highest possible level and, as parents themselves (many having completed the course with their own children) they understand exactly what you’re going through. They’re trained to tune in very carefully to the needs of both you and your little one – this is one of the most magical times in people’s lives so we work incredibly hard to enhance it. You can begin your Water Babies journey at the start of any term — and the earlier, the better (our youngest-ever Water Baby was just 2 days old!). In their first year, a baby’s brain grows more rapidly than at any other time, so it makes sense to start early and maximise their exposure to learning experiences in a variety of environments. And what’s more, NHS guidelines http://www.nhs.uk/Planners/vaccinations/Pages/Parents-questions.aspx say babies don’t need to have had their vaccinations before they can swim.
