experience our hydrotherapy pool

Hydrotherapy is provided by Chartered Physiotherapists in our purpose built, temperature-controlled pool

Hydrotherapy can be provided as part of your physiotherapy treatment. Our Kent-based hydrotherapy pool is purpose built, and constantly kept at a temperature of 33-35ºC.

It is a superb environment for promoting muscle relaxation, increased freedom of movement and pain relief. Buoyancy is used to assist or resist movement, as well as to minimise the effects of gravity.

Our patients are covered by various insurers and we have a partnership agreement with BUPA, and are recognised by AXA PPP, for the provision of hydrotherapy.

Hydrotherapy can benefit patients who suffer from acute and chronic conditions such as:

  • Stroke
  • Recent orthopaedic injury or surgery
  • Osteo-arthritis
  • Road traffic accident rehabilitation
  • Rheumatoid diseases
  • Neurological conditions
  • Spinal problems
  • Post operative rehabilitation
  • Sports injuries
  • Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)
  • Multiple Sclerosis (MS)

Your initial appointment will be a land-based assessment where the appropriate course of treatment will be planned and agreed with you. In some situations the physiotherapist may recommend that after your course of hydrotherapy you join one of our remedial sessions to practice the exercises, either by yourself or in a group. 

Neurological service:
We are also able to offer group work, either in our hydrotherapy pool or on land, led by a physiotherapist, for people with Parkinson’s disease and Multiple sclerosis.  These sessions are fun and very beneficial for maximizing independence.
Alternatively we offer  1:1 sessions with a physiotherapist for people with progressive neurological disorders.  This includes full assessment and an individual treatment plan.
These sessions can either be in the pool or land based.

Charges:

One to one or one to two £39.50 (30 minute session)
Remedial  
Group (of up to 6) 8 sessions £8.00 (per session)
Individual  £12.00 (per session)


A means-tested ‘Access to Care’ grant is available for those of limited means who wish to apply to it to help reduce costs.
