Sue Pople - Head of Physiotherapy Having qualified from King’s College hospital in 1981,I worked for the NHS in the Brighton and Mid Sussex area, completing a wide range of rotational positions. I started a small private practice in 1987, working with older patients many of whom had Alzheimer’s disease and Dementia. I am particularly interested in orthopaedic, elderly frail and neurological rehabilitation. I joined Burrswood as Head of Department in 2008. My interest in rehabilitation has grown as I have had the opportunity to develop my skills, particularly in hydrotherapy, through several courses and in service training. Whole person care is central to my work, using specific clinical skills along side those of listening and encouragement. I believe that a Physiotherapist’s role is that of facilitation and empowering the patients to be as independent as possible. |

Charlotte Hogg I grew up in Sussex, went to secondary school in Tunbridge Wells and then returned home after finishing at Coventry university. I visited Bocky’s tearoom as a child but I have since learnt Burrswood offers a whole lot more than great cake. My physiotherapy interests currently lie within the consolidation of skills learnt throughout my student career and the use of aquatic therapy in a variety of conditions. |

Olly Krouwel I studied an accelerated physiotherapy degree at Brighton University, following which I worked at Croydon PCT and Mayday Hospitals before joining Burrswood. As part of the MSc Course I completed a 15,000 word dissertation on low back pain which I revised and published in a medical journal called ‘Manual Therapy’. I presented my research at a National Physiotherapy Research Network meeting and at an Interdisciplinary World Conference on Low Back and Pelvic Pain in Los Angeles, USA. I have a special interest in musculoskeletal problems and sports injuries. I was a member of the Football Association Medical Society for 2 years and I have completed a Level 1 Clinical Pilates course, Hydrotherapy courses, and attended advanced classes on low back and pelvic pain. I enjoy working at Burrswood Hospital and am currently working on a research project for people with Multiple Sclerosis in collaboration with the University of Brighton. |

Vicky Crouch I now specialise in neurology though my other passion is teaching and I have been a Clinical Educator for physiotherapy students for many years. In the summer of 2000 I was seconded to Brighton University to carry out a research project which I thoroughly enjoyed. I love my work at Burrswood and its lovely healing atmosphere which just simply makes you feel better. |
