The workshop will begin with a demonstration of how to throw on the pottery wheel, and an introduction to general ceramic skills and handbuilding techniques. You’ll then get stuck into creating your own pieces, taking to the wheel to make your own bowl and vessel with one-to-one guidance from Finola or one of her trained assistants. As well as using the wheel, you’ll also put your handbuilding skills into practice designing and making tiles.
Throwing and hand building with clay is extremely therapeutic the workshop is designed to make you feel relaxed and enjoy experiences working with the soothing benefits of clay. The workshop is for complete beginners and is a confidence building programme to help you feel at empowered and open to trying new skills.
