Burrswood offers three types of Respite Care;

Independent

For patients who are independent but weak or frail, this package provides safety and comfort. Includes ‘light touch only’ nursing and medical care, giving gentle oversight. Pastoral chaplaincy support is included if requested, but physiotherapy or counseling is only by prior agreement

Assisted

For patients who need some assistance with everyday tasks such as washing and dressing. Includes appropriate nursing and medical care, physiotherapy and pastoral chaplaincy support if requested.

Dependent

For patients who are immobile or bed bound. Includes full nursing and medical care (with air mattress and hoist if required), physiotherapy and pastoral chaplaincy support if requested.
 
Respite Care at Burrswood allows people to have a break from their normal routine in an environment that is peaceful and safe. This care package allows the patient and/or their usual carer to take leave from day-to-day routine. There is an option under this package for the patient to have their spouse, carer, family member or friend to stay either in patient rooms that can accommodate two persons or in Burrswood’s guest house, St Michael’s.
