We care for the whole person.
Burrswood is really different; it gives a person total care.
Many patients who come are temporarily unable to remain at home - such as people needing post-operative care, those requiring additional convalescent care following a critical illness and those with longer term clinical or rehabilitation needs. The level of care we are able to provide ensures our patients have the best recovery in the most appropriate time frame. Please note we do not have doctors resident on site. Medical cover from a doctor is provided through a service level agreement with our local GP surgery.
There are some specific criteria that may prevent people being admitted and there are some conditions where admission may not be possible or advisable. Please see the attached Admission Policy for full details.
All patients appreciate the safe tranquil environment with comfort, privacy and dignity offered by our individual en-suite rooms equipped with television, telephone and emergency call system. Overhead tracking hoists enable those with physical disabilities to be cared for safely.
People of all faiths and none are warmly welcomed at Burrswood.
Our Therapy & Outpatient Suite comprising hydrotherapy pool, physiotherapy suite, counselling and consultation rooms are all equipped to a high standard.
Burrswood Health and Wellbeing is registered to provide services by the Care Quality Commission (Provider ID: 0000026155). For more information, visit www.cqc.org.uk or click here to read about our latest report

Safeguarding and Patient Charter
Vulnerable adults have the right to receive good care and support and to live safely whilst at Burrswood.
Burrswood staff will aim to prevent and reduce the risk of significant harm to vulnerable adults from abuse or other types of exploitation, whilst supporting individuals in maintaining control of their lives and in making informed choices without coercion.
Burrswood believes that safeguarding is everybody's business with staff and volunteers playing a part in preventing, detecting and reporting neglect and abuse. This Safeguarding Policy is based on the 'No Secrets' document (National Guidance on developing and implementing multi-agency policies and procedures to protect vulnerable adults from abuse; Department of Health 2000).
Burrswood's Safeguarding Policy will ensure that staff:
- Recognise people who are unable to take their own decisions
- Recognise that the right to self determination can involve risk
- Facilitate the safety of vulnerable adults
- Recognise that when the right to an independent lifestyle and choice is at risk, the individual concerned receives appropriate help
- Know the law and statutory requirements that relate to Safeguarding, and use them.
