At Burrswood we offer the highest levels of evidence based interdisciplinary clinical and compassionate care for adults to ensure that our patients achieve the best possible outcomes.  At all times we provide an individually tailored approach that ensures each patient's needs and requirements are fully met.

In-patient medical care is provided by our experienced resident medical team who are available 24 hours a day.  Alongside the skilled nursing care, we ensure counselling, physiotherapy and input from chaplains and support staff are available as needed and appropriate.

Many patients who come are temporarily unable to remain at home - such as people needing post-operative care, those requiring additional convalescent care following a critical illness and those with longer term clinical or rehabilitation needs.  The level of care we are able to provide ensures our patients have the best recovery in the most appropriate time frame.

We are not able to admit patients that require the intensive monitoring or interventional care of an acute hospital, neither can we admit people under the age of 18 or those requiring acute psychiatric services.

All patients appreciate the safe tranquil environment with comfort, privacy and dignity offered by our individual en-suite rooms equipped with television, telephone and emergency call system.  Overhead tracking hoists enable those with physical disabilities to be cared for safely.

Our Physicians work very closely with the referring consultants, who may visit their patients as often as is required, to ensure the optimum care pathway is tailored to each patient's clinical needs. From pre-admissions planning through to a comprehensive discharge plan, our team works in partnership with other healthcare professionals and the patient's GP to ensure that all our patients healthcare, social and spiritual needs are met.

Private Health Insurance

If patients have private insurance cover for medical issues, they should check their policy to confirm that it provides cover for their stay.  Our patients are covered by various insurers and we have a partnership agreement with BUPA, and are recognised by AXA PPP, for the provision of physiotherapy and hydrotherapy.
