Burrswood welcomes medical referrals and specializes in the unique needs associated with:

Following assessment, the care plan may involve treatment with other team members - i.e. counsellor, physiotherapist or chaplain. The aim is always to ensure that the needs of the whole person are met. In some cases a short inpatient stay may be suggested as the best way to achieve progress in longer-term, complicated medical situations.
Communication with the referring GP or self-referring patient's GP is paramount to ensure ongoing, co-ordinated care.

Medical Referral sessions may last longer than 30 minutes. The Outpatients receptionist will advise on the length of consultation you are likely to require. If you anticipate difficulty in meeting the cost of treatment, please discuss with us the possibility of a Burrswood Care Grant.

The outpatient department is an integral part of the Christian healthcare and ministry offered at Burrswood. Patients are free to enjoy the grounds, attend church services, unwind in the tea room over a simple lunch or cup of tea, or just browse in the bookshop.
