The Burrswood Outpatients Department (the St Peter's Wing) was opened by Sir Maurice Laing in April 1997. Built as an extension to the facilities operated by Burrswood for inpatients, the Outpatients Department has allowed patients to return home knowing that they can see the same doctors and physiotherapists for subsequent visits. It has also become a useful resource to local people.
