St Michael’s Guest House

The original, Decimus Burton-designed house bears the name St Michael’s and until its refurbishment (July 2009-March 2010) provided individual hospital rooms.  When it re-opens on 15 March 2010, it will be as our guest house, offering newly-decorated bedrooms with individual styling within which the early Victorian features have been retained and restored where possible.  The six bedrooms offer a mixture of single or twin accommodation, providing full, half-board, or bed and breakfast as an option for those who plan regular days out.  Breakfast is served in your room, while other meals, including morning coffee and afternoon tea are available in the main dining room or drawing room.  Five rooms have en-suite shower or bath rooms and one has a separate, private bathroom.  All have televisions with Freeview, internet access points and tea/coffee making facilities. Room charges are listed below.

As our guest, we want you to experience the best that Burrswood has to offer, including our other on-site facilities such as Bocky’s Kitchen, our regular Healing Services in our beautiful Church and our well-stocked Book shop and Gift shop. Appointments for Massage or Physiotherapy may be accessed via the Outpatients department and an appointment made with our visiting Manicurist or Hairdresser via reception. Requests may also be made to meet with a member of the Chaplaincy team.

Burrswood St Michael’s is a central location, ideally situated for visiting a variety of National Trust and English Heritage properties, sight-seeing in London and trips to the coast.  The 100 acre estate, including 10 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens and ponds, offers guests a choice of walks and plenty of idyllic hideaways to catch the summer sun or simply enjoy peace, solitude or a personal retreat.

All charges are per night per room and include VAT.

A small charge will be made for room service for lunch and supper which is available by prior arrangement.

Please note that we are pleased to be able to offer retired clergy (and those in full-time ministry) and their spouse a 20% discount throughout the year regardless of length of stay. Discounts may not be combined.

For those guests who have made a reservation on a half board or bed & breakfast basis, lunch and/or supper in the main dining room may be booked at a cost of £12.50 per person.

St Michael’s provides ideal accommodation for small groups wishing to make use of St David’s meeting room for residential planning or training sessions.  Prices are available on request via our Reservations office.
