Travelling to Burrswood by public transport

Train

Trains run regularly from London (Charing Cross, Waterloo East, London Bridge and Cannon Street) to Tunbridge Wells.

Bus

There is a bus link from Tunbridge Wells to Groombridge (number 291). Get off at Crown pub REQUEST stop just prior to the Victoria stop in Groombridge. The Burrswood entrance is just across the village green and well signed. Buses run every day although services are more limited at weekends. Taxis are also available from the station.

Burrswood is quite close to the M25 and therefore within easy reach of London's airports where taxis or connecting public transport links to London stations. Gatwick is approximately 35 minutes journey time by car and Heathrow over one hour.

From the M25

• Take junction 5 signposted A21 to Sevenoaks and Hastings.
• Follow A21 south. After approximately 10 miles take A26 signposted Southborough and Tunbridge Wells.
• Stay in the left hand lane following signs to Southborough and Tunbridge Wells. After approximately one mile take first right, very sharp turn signposted Bidborough.
• Continue along this road through Bidborough, Penshurst and Fordcombe (approximately 6 miles).
• At the T junction turn left.
• At the next T junction (almost immediate) turn right onto A264 signposted Groombridge.
• Go down Groombridge Hill and then turn right at the Crown pub across the village green. You will see the Burrswood sign facing you. Continue up the drive for ¾ of a mile, past the first buildings until you reach Main Reception with parking to your right.

From the M23

• Take junction 10 signed to East Grinstead.
• Follow the A264 to East Grinstead.
• As you come into the one way system in East Grinstead, just after a DIY centre on your left, turn left (easy to miss) into Moat Road still on the  and signed to Tunbridge Wells.
• Follow the winding country road for approximately 10 miles until faced with a T-junction. Turn right signposted to Groombridge.
• Go down Groombridge Hill and then turn right at the Crown pub across the village green. You will see the Burrswood sign facing you. Continue up the drive for ¾ of a mile, past the first buildings until you reach Main Reception with parking to your right.

From the A21 (northbound from Hastings)

• At Pembury take the A264 (signposted Tunbridge Wells) and follow the signs into and out of Tunbridge Wells on the A264. You will need to follow the signs carefully, but it is possible. This road will take you through the village of Langton Green and shortly afterwards branches off to the right. Do not turn right but continue straight ahead (signed Groombridge).
• Go down Groombridge Hill and then turn right at the Crown pub across the village green. You will see the Burrswood sign facing you. Continue up the drive for ¾ of a mile, past the first buildings until you reach Main Reception with parking to your right.
